“Lucky One” details the darker side of service and combat deployments painting the picture of a service member struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after the main character of the song returns home after losing three of he closest friends to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast. “I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to perform for events involving Veterans and Wounded Warriors. This song is the culmination of several stories all wrapped into one and based on my deployment to Iraq and in listening to the stories and accounts of service members dealing with PTSD.” Corrado said. The song also features backing vocals by Mike’s friend and fellow recording artist Spencer Rush.

Billy Ray’s been a friend of mine for going on 20 years
We’ve seen the best of times & the worst bar fights
Fueled by women, booze and beer

Lately things don’t seem the same since he’s been back from the war
He said “I’ll tell you my friend I’m scared to death, I don’t know me anymore”

I feel like I’m one step from the last step from the bottom

And I’ve got one hand on the bottle, I got one hand on my gun
I got one round in the chamber, yet they call me the lucky one

He said it happened so fast in the blink of an eye
Lost 3 of my friends to a blast in the night
And ever since then, I ain’t been right

That’s 3 brave souls who are never coming home
Who’s kids will only really get to know
Their daddies through stories only others get to tell

And I feel like I’m one step from the last step from the bottom

And I’ve got one hand on the bottle, I got one hand on my gun
I got one round in the chamber, yet they call me the lucky one

Some scars you see some you don’t
And some are more than flesh & bone you see
Some scars ain’t that hard to find when other scars hide deep inside of me

Still I’ve got one hand on the bottle, I got one hand on my gun
I got one round in the chamber, yet they call me the lucky one, the lucky one
