Being the daughter of a retired career Marine who thankfully came home from 3 tours of Vietnam, I am VERY grateful for all of the men & women who put their lives on the line for us EVERY single day.

I just finished watching your video "Stand" & I am a fan. Thank you for putting into words what all service members & their families feel every day that they are out there protecting us.

Thank you Mike for your service & for your truth & honesty in song.

I want you to know that I think you're an amazing man. Your song and video "Still in the Fight", is so moving and powerful. Thank you so much for your service. Your sacrifice is NOT unnoticed. For the last six years, I have worn red on Fridays to support our troops. I send care packages to our brave service men and women. I stay in touch with a couple who were in Afghanistan and now are stationed Stateside.I can never thank any of you enough, because of you and your fellow troops, we are FREE!!!!!! Thank you and God bless America.

First off, Thank you for serving our country! I love your music & want to hear more from you! I have always had relatives and friends in the military, mostly Marines. I'm named after my uncle who was in the Navy & passed away when my mom found out she was carrying me & just as proud of another uncle who lied about his age during WWII at 16 & joined the Marines who put a zippo on his back & sent him to Iwo Jima where he got the Enola Gay lift off on that fateful mission. I lost a dear friend to the sickness from Desert Storm. I have great admiration for anyone that serves this country! I became a nurse in San Antonio, TX & got an invitation to work at BAMC where I do rotations in the burn unit. You guys are incredible people and make me proud to fly my tattered flag in my yard year round & make me proud to be an American! I want to thank every one of you guys I can, but the best I can do is keep being the best nurse I can, send care packages, & collect old cell phones to send over. I wish you all.the best in your endeavors!

Mike,

You finally made me break into the next century today and get an iTunes account. I purchased everything you had available except Shake 'Em and Spinning Your World Upside Down that I bought when you appeared in Wilmington and Topsail Beach in 2002-03? Man, it has been a while but you are still crankin' 'em out! My favorites are on the early cd's (good thing they don't wear out like albums) but your new stuff is ridiculous! MAN! Victory Lane is AWESOME! Falling Awake has me sucked in now (all songs) and Stand is freakin' awesome! I hate to say it, but as a man, My Watch had tears just rollin' hard down my cheeks!

You are crankin', Brotha! Keep Up The Awesome Work!

I went to Still In The Fight on Facebook and "liked" it, wish something would show up on my page in support...

Can't wait to play some of your new stuff to my father in law, who is an ex-Marine!

PLEASE come back to Wilmington (or just Eastern NC), I have signed up to your RSS feed for scheduling! I was in the Gulf last year working on the oil spill - was bummed today to find I missed you at Kefi's - DANG IT!

Keep 'Em Rollin'!

My son is a Marine 1/9 2nd Division. Like you, since 9-11 he vowed to do his duty for our country. (He was only in the 4th grade). I hoped he would "grow out of" his personal commitment, but he didn't. Current plans are to deploy to Afghanistan May 15 2011. Thank you for your inspirational music. I plan to buy your CD's for myself to help me on those hard days remember why he is doing what he is. Thank you for your service and your music.

After stumbling across "The Lucky One" on youtube I automatically fell in love. We deal with both PTSD & TBI on a daily basis in my household and it was encouraging to know we're not alone. I know you hear this all the time, but thank you! Not only for your service, but for making songs that military families can relate to (songs that are actually GOOD! :P). You do an amazing job to touch all bases. The songs for parents, lovers, from the troops eye and so forth. Deployment five for me and my husband is coming up shortly and I know I will be listening to your songs on those nights when I pull out the notepad, glass of wine and write my letters to him. Thank you again. Keep up the wonderful work.

Sir,
Over the past 5 years I have been from Northern Iraq to Southern Helmand Province Afghanistan. I am a Marine and I learned your song "On my watch tonight" and have played it for the Marines I have been in shit with for the past 5 years. We lost 3 Marine on our last pump and I played your song for their memorial. It was one of the greatest honors of my life to be asked to do that by their families. Your song is my favorite song to play and one that touches home every time. I alter the words some times to facilitate the west coast Marines (YUT!!) I just wanted to thank you Sir and If you make it to Camp Pendleton any time soon,I would love to jam with you and swap stories. Thank you for what you continue to do for us Devil Dogs!! Semper Fi!!

Thank you so much for your service and for all that you do in giving families here at home some much needed hope. I also think it is incredible what you are doing by singing about the important issues like PTSD. Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you for your very touching songs. My nephew is getting ready for his second tour, this time to Afghanistan. He is Airforce. When he was going to Iraq, my brother, his father-in-law, decided to go be a civpol, civil police trainer. We told the kids, Pop Pop was going to take care of Uncle Joe. It took the Marines. Say Mike. Your journey reminds me of a dear friend I knew in the 5th Special Forces on Smoke Bomb Hill in 1963-64. Sgt. (later SSgt.) Berry Sadler. I can still see him sitting around the old wooden barracks with his guitar, singing "The Ballad of the Green Beret" and many other songs he was writing. He was a misfit, and a product of his own private world; but a very likeable guy with a good heart. He had a hard time as a garrison trooper, and was meant to be a roving warrior minstrel. Popularity and money caught him on his blind side, and caused him some hard times on the Hill, till he negociated an honorable discharge. His sad end was the making of another song, which he would have written had he lived. Maybe you could write a tribute to him "The Warrior Troubadour". or something in that vain. Jim in SD

December 11, 2010

God heard my prayers when I asked to reach out to you out there fighting for our Freedom here.
My Uncle sent me "Let's Say Thank You". And now I hear your music. I am praying that God keeps you safe and His Angels surround all the men and women who serve in the Military at home and abroad.
Your music is very good and it touches my heart deeply. My dad is a World War II vet. I'm caring for him now because he has dimentia and Alzheimer's. He served on submarines for over 20 years. And when he wasn't on the boat he was home tending to our Garden. He was a hard and dedicated worker home and on the ship.
I know that many of you are the same and I am grateful for all that you do for us. I still cry when I see our troops walking in city parades. I hope and pray that even if we are fighting in a war that God had not intended us to be in, that God would protect our men and women. I will keep you in my prayers daily and hope that come back home soon. Happy Holidays to All!
Sincerely,
Charlene
